THE RADICAL

Alt-right radicalization is a problem. How do the radicalized become radical?

Internet radicalization predominantly targets young men.

Compared to other groups, this population spends more time on social media and gaming platforms, and extremist individuals single them out for recruitment online. Socially-isolated boys, in particular, seek a community of friends on the internet, and many find that in right-wing extremist movements.

Unfortunately, joining these radical groups can be detrimental for them and for society, as these young men increasingly turn toward violence as a solution. The Reclaim Project seeks to stop this radicalization before it can happen.

We hope to redirect young men away from online extremism by addressing their concerns surrounding masculinity and belonging.
